Session 1: Evolving Therapeutic Strategies in the Stages of COVID-19 with Paul Bergner, RH (AHG)

This webinar was recorded Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

This presentation will include information from an evolving research into the nature and presentation of the disease, risk factors for severe illness, historical research into the materia medica and formulations used by British herbalists during the 1918 influenza pandemic, and daily ongoing review of contemporary case reports from North America and the UK. We will describe an herbal strategy of adapting therapeutics to 5 stages of the illness: Prevention, Infection, "Tipping Point", Inflammation, and Recovery.

Session 2: The Herbalist during the Current Viral Pandemic, a Shared Experience with 7Song

This webinar was recorded Tuesday, June 2, 2020

All AHG Registered Herbalists will receive an email granting them free access to the livestream and recording of this webinar.

7Song discusses how he has been active as an herbalist during the SARS-CoV-2 viral outbreak such as working with people via phone consultations, and helping with other ailments besides COVID-19 as well as working with people who have viral symptoms. "One of the difficulties is that the clinic I work, the Ithaca Free Clinic, has been shut down since mid-March and will likely stay closed for a while longer. And so the challenges of working with patients and delivering herbal medicines will be a part of this discussion. The majority of this class is not how to treat COVID-19, but rather what herbalists have been doing to help people during this pandemic and quarantine. Other herbalists are welcome to add their voices to this moderated discussion. My goal is to exchange as much helpful information for both practitioners and non-practitioners during this unprecedented and unknowable time of our lives."
