Focus Session: Clinical Skills Workshop
Client Capacity, Implementing Change, and the Art of Collaborative Protocol Creation with Cameron Strouss, B.S., RH (AHG), FH, Aromatherapist
Tuesday, June 23, 2026
6:00pm – 7:30pm ET / 3:00pm – 4:30pm PT
The most clinically sound protocol means nothing if a client can’t digest it, integrate it, and implement it. This Focus Session explores the gap between what we think clients might need and what is logistically workable in their lives — and how practitioners can design protocols collaboratively with this in mind.
Through the frameworks of capacity assessment, behavior replacement, phased protocols, and client/practitioner collaborative care, in this Focus Session, we’ll hash out how to more effectively meet clients in their lives rather than inside of our clinical ideal. Practitioners will leave with a toolkit for designing recommendations that are honest, sustainable, and workable for their clients.

A Client Centered Approach to Type 2 Diabetes
Tuesday, July 21, 2026
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease experienced by more than 10% of adults in North America, and its precursor, insulin resistance, is even more prevalent.
This Focus Session will expand on the pathophysiology of insulin resistance to include interconnections with hormones, the liver, the thyroid, stress, systemic oppression and more. While the dominant medical paradigm focuses on symptoms like weight gain, a holistic approach can address underlying root causes and offer whole person support through a client-centred, body-positive and harm reduction approach. From this lens, you will learn how to frame realistic and empowering goals, and craft effective herbal protocols based on the individual client’s unique goals and barriers.
