Clinical and Laboratory Assessment for the Herbalist

Spend Monday exploring a variety of clinical assessment methods, as well as learning to read basic laboratory tests. In the morning, learn to integrate clinical tools to perform a thorough assessment of a client’s mind and body health, using traditional, nature-centered tools such as tongue and symptom patterns, as well as modern clinical tools such as body composition, validated questionnaires, blood pressure, and physical exam.  Learn to use and integrate tools to assess your client’s physiological and mental health.

In the afternoon, learn to review basic blood work such as complete blood counts, blood chemistry, lipid, thyroid and hormone panels, as well as more advanced functional labs, such as organic acids testing and stool analysis.

Functional and conventional ranges will be compared, and values will be laid out within these ranges to indicate a need for medical referral.  Gain the tools you need to read and order tests, as well as collaborate with other medical professionals.
