Founded in 2006, the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA), is the professional organization representing aromatherapists. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose aim is to increase awareness of, and expand access to aromatherapists, help its members build successful practices, to expand the body of aromatherapy research, and to serve as a resource for our members, the media, and the public. AIA recognizes the importance of establishing and maintaining advanced educational standards for Advanced Practitioner Aromatherapists. In 2009, the AIA launched its School Recognition Program, the first organization in the USA to establish the most comprehensive educational standards for Advanced Practitioner Aromatherapists.
