Politically Compassionate Herbalism with Mary Blue

This webinar explores Health Justice principles  and PC (politically compassionate) language within the context of clinical herbalism and herbal education. This class will expand the herbalists understanding of the importance of cultural competency within  individual practices,  and within the greater herbal community.
These principles will augment the herbalists clinical skills and build a tool kit to support  diverse clients and students  in an inclusive, compassionate way.
Even if you have been teaching or practicing for years, (and especially if you have never taken any cultural competency classes), this class is a great way to broaden your awareness and language skills and expand compassion in order to support clients and students more effectively.
This webinar will also touch on models for creating a more inclusive, diverse herbal practice.

Mary Blue  is the founder of Farmacy Herbs Community Health and Education Center in RI, which is an herb school, product company, clinic, and herb farm in RI. Mary is also the co-founder of The Sage Clinic, Radherb, Providence Recycle-a-Bike, Tradition Not Trademark, and Herbal Aide.
Mary holds a teaching position at the Brown University Medical School, teaching Western Herbalism to the Integrative Resident Program. Since 2006 she has run herbal programs focusing on herbal medicine and health justice locally and nationally. She represented Western Herbalists and spoke at the 2013 United Nations Council on Women.
Mary is also a participant of the USDA’s women farmer program.
