My plan is to discuss/show how myself and others in Detroit are using herbalism for what may perhaps be innovative approaches to anti-violence work, environmental justice education, to push back against corporate polluting, and to teach Media Deconstruction and Accountability... all while empowering community members to make their own herbal medicines and grow medicinal plants.

Bio: Lottie V. Spady, Detroit food, environment and media justice activist, has been studying herbalism formally for over 6 years and an advocate and user of herbal supports for decades. She is currently hosting community herbal education sessions, plant identification walks and medicine making workshops in Detroit.
