Samuel MarTinez

Samuel MarTinez is a MSW whose mother (medicine woman and oral historian) rooted her to 40,000 years of native resiliency. Her teaching/healing remedies became her traditional healing praxis, a healing response to post generational traumatic oppression caused by American Holocaust. People dislocados - uprooted and disconnected survivors - need to be re-rooted, by re-membering who they really are. For 47 years, as a social (justice) worker, she has progressively refined this approach by integrating Paulo Freire's pedagogy of the oppressed, innate resiliency, and factors of change research, confirming that 'la cultura cura - culture heals'.
