Materia Medica in Clinical Practice

Bioregional herbalism is inspired and shaped by the plant communities that surround us. When these plants become the foundation of herbal practice, our work is grounded in a powerful sense of place that increases the potency of our medicines. In this seminar, three seasoned herbalists share their methods for developing a relationship with local plants such as using your senses (organoleptics), integrating the rhythm of the seasons, and more. We’ll each introduce the ten herbs we consider central to this practice and how we use them, often in ways that you might not expect. You’ll leave this seminar with new understanding of herbs you may already know as well as practical guidelines for expanding your own materia medica using the plants of your bioregion.

In this session we’ll each introduce the ten herbs we consider central to our clinical practice and share how we use them, often in ways that you might not expect.
