As practitioners and students, we spend time getting to know various body systems but not often the mouth. We'll do this. Understanding our mouths is critical to not only ensuring a healthy oral cavity but also relieving pain or discomfort and moderating inflammation throughout the body. In addition to discussing links between oral and systemic health and the need for a sound oral health intake, we'll look towards foods, pharmaceuticals and herbs and how these can positively and negatively affect oral health.
