AHG Membership

General Membership

General Members are individuals who are interested in herbal medicine or who are working towards professional status in the AHG. All General Members agree to abide by the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the AHG.

All of our members receive a subscription to the Journal of the American Herbalists Guild as well as to our informational e-newsletter, Guild News and Views. Members also get discounts to the AHG Annual Symposium and Free Access to the AHG Webinar Series. And enjoy unlimited on-line access to past issues of the JAHG and to a growing library of recorded lectures from AHG conferences and seminars.

General Membership with Student Discount

Students in herbal study programs receive a $10 discount on their general membership dues, provided they submit evidence of enrollment in a program upon joining and every year upon renewal.

Members also get discounts to the AHG Annual Symposium and Free Access to the AHG Webinar Series. Students can also participate in the AHG Council of Students.

You must be enrolled in an herbal education program to qualify.

Professional Membership

Members in the Professional Member category have had their credentials evaluated by the Admissions Committee through our rigorous Admissions Review Process. This level of membership is open to herbalists from all traditions. Applicants for the Registry must complete the AHG application, submit a personal and professional biography, meet the AHG minimum professional requirements of at least four years of training and clinical experience, provide three letters of reference from practitioners in the field of botanical medicine, and three comprehensive case histories. Upon acceptance, professional members may use the designation Herbalist, AHG or Registered Herbalist (R.H.).

All of our professional members are listed in our Find an Herbalist National Locator Service and can
promote their lectures in the AHG Speaker’s Bureau. Professional members also receive a subscription to the Journal of the American Herbalists Guild as well as to our informational e-newsletter, Guild News and Views. Members also get discounts to the AHG Annual Symposium and Free Access to the AHG Webinar Series. And enjoy unlimited on-line access to past issues of the JAHG and to a growing library of recorded lectures from AHG conferences and seminars.

School Membership

Any school that has an enrollment of a minimum of 10 active students per year may become a member of the AHG. School membership in the AHG is $150 per year. This entitles the school to all rights and privileges of a Sponsoring Membership, including a subscription to the Journal of the American Herbalists Guild. A School Membership also includes a listing in our web-based Directory of Herbal Education. In addition, this fee covers the cost of a student membership in the AHG with all of the rights, privileges, and services thereof, to a student of the school’s  choice.

Annual dues: $175
